These words written over 90 years ago speak much to the same sentiment we are experiencing since our new millennium. Although occult sciences retreated into the shadows for a century, there is a renaissance happening right now. As the thirst for the ancient teachings' is rediscovered, we see the amalgamation of science and spirit reexamined. You are a part of this growing subculture earnestly seeking with all seriousness an understanding of the cosmos incongruent with spirit. In this course, you are here to test and experiment with your ideas, to find your path and build a strong relationship!
Alchemy in the Middle Ages was the forerunner to all sciences (with the ancient hermeticists tracing their roots back to Egypt and Sumer 10, 000 BC) integrating astrology, astronomy, medicine and spirit. During Alexandria 300 BC Egypt, a melting pot of ancient traditions blended the most significant discoveries of philosophy, spiritual teachings, and connection with the elements and stars. Out of these works emerged ideas and principles that formulated our modern scientific view of the universe in the shape of a cube as practiced with-in the Qabalist tradition. Now, just as the alchemist of the past, we must rework old systems to match our growth and changing perceptions to open new possibilities for continuing The Great Work. As our culture moves from a masculine (left-brain) expression into the feminine (right-brain), our perception is shifting towards an understanding centred with-in the circle (or sacred hoop as our ancient earth peoples understood). Because of this, a new (or rediscovered) system of alchemy emerged based on the Alchemical Wheel or Sacred and The Four Directions, balancing both the circle and square.
